The pediatricians at Holly Springs Pediatrics are thrilled to now offer iScreen Vision Screening to children. This vision screening test allows us to use the latest digital photoscreening technology to screen for vision abnormalities in infants, pre-school, and school-age children. Photoscreening can help our pediatricians provide earlier diagnosis, more effective treatment, better patient outcomes, and a higher standard of vision care.

Benefits of iScreen Vision

Easy to Use

iScreen is as easy to use as a digital camera and allows comprehensive vision screening before, during, or after well-visit exams. Since no patient response is necessary, iScreen is ideal for pediatric patients, including those who are pre-verbal, non-verbal, non-compliant, or developmentally challenged.

Fast

iScreen captures two digital eye images in a fraction of a second and immediately displays the images on a computer skin for one of our pediatricians to review. One keystroke submits the data to iScreen Central Analysis and results are returned quickly, usually while the patients are still in our office.

Early Identification of Vision Abnormalities

According to research, photoscreening is highly accurate in screening for potential vision abnormalities, including myopia, hyperopia, anisometropia, astigmatism, strabismus, and other serious vision problems that can result in amblyopia or vision less if left untreated.

Supports Vision Care Guidelines

Since iScreen provides comprehensive vision screening for children as young as one year old, it allows our pediatricians to easily comply with vision screening guidelines.

Centralized Analysis and Data Storage

iScreen provides off-site, centralized analysis by trained technicians. Patient images and data are securely stored and maintained in a database so that they our pediatricians can easily retrieve them in the future.

Why We Added iVision to Our Practice?

On average, one in every four pediatric patients have a vision problem. Additionally, up to five percent of all children in the country are suffering from an eye abnormality that may lead to amblyopia or lazy eye and lead to permanent vision loss or blindness if not detected or treated early.

Unfortunately, less than 20 percent of all children undergo a comprehensive eye exam before they enter first grade. Since vision issues can significantly impact children academically, socially, and emotionally, it is important for them to get their eyes checked and treated if necessary. iVision makes it a breeze to uncover abnormalities and provide children with early diagnosis and treatment.
